How Far Does Glass Go?

Rather than feature an item this week, I am embarking on a long-term journey that I would like for you to join with me.  We are starting with a sheet of glass, just as it is purchased from a local or mail order vendor.  Over the course of this year – or maybe less – we will see how many uses this single piece of glass is involved in.

First, I will use a small corner for a snail plant peeper.  Here, is the whole sheet of glass, with the snail pattern in place and ready to cut.  Once traced, I will cut a whole strip that includes the pattern and save all pieces for future projects.

The snail body is then combined with other pieces and/or processes to create a snail plant peeper, shown in the second photo.  The fused glass snail is glued to a stainless steel straw and perfect to use inside or outside.  The last picture shows the snail in one of my favorite houseplants.

Snails are just one of our array of plant peepers. The peeper zoo includes turtles, flamingoes, owls, frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, bumble bees and our newest animal is a peacock, which is still in production!

We enjoy making items that represent special times or special people.  If you have someone that you want to give a unique plant peeper, or another special item, contact us by emailing here or contact us on Facebook.
