Flexible Glass!
Continuing with my experiment with Flexi Glass, I completed my starfish that was shown in the post last week. When I removed the starfish project from the coated paper, it was indeed flexible and I could easily change the contour of the tentacles as I pleased. The flexibility is shown here. Although flexible and easy to move, it was still rather delicate and shaping needed to be done slowly with small finely tipped scissors.
Once the shape was complete, the starfish was fused onto a clear glass panel sized to fit a particular frame. The starfish was fitted into a frame with a companion turtle and the completed project is shown here.
I am sure there are better and more creative ways to use this product, so I am continuing to explore options and hope to have some additional products in the future. I am always searching for new ideas and had a couple of wonderful suggestions at my Open Studio event, which I am now working on and you will see in a post in the near future.
