Creating Soap Dishes - Next Step

As we continue through the creation process of soap dishes, the next step takes us back to the workbench.

Shown here are the full fused flat blanks for the soap dishes.  The next step is to add some small pre-fused dots to the center bottom of the soap dish to aid in drainage and air flow so that the soap can maintain its shape.  The dots can be color coordinated, the same color as the dish, or even clear so that they are more invisible.  One of the white confetti blanks will have clear dots and one will have white dots added.  The blue and green dishes will get dots of a matching color.  The two experimental dishes on the right, well . . . their experiment just didn’t work out and they are not acceptable, so they will go in the storage bin and may re-surface as something else another time.

After the dots are temporarily glued in place, the blank is placed in the soap dish ceramic form for shaping and fused once again.  Next week, we can see how the process ends.
