Who Doesn’t Like Hummingbirds?

I find hummingbirds delightful, colorful and awe-inspiring.  I also find that they do a superb job of resisting all my efforts to encourage them to venture into my yard!

Since I can’t have them in real-time, here is a mosaic that keeps them near.  This mosaic is done with non-fusible glass on a piece of plywood.  It was originally created because the hummingbird was so intriguing and seemed like a fun project.  The size was an arbitrary choice, as we could resize the pattern as we chose.

When the panel was finished, we weren’t sure what to do with it.  On one of my daily walks in the neighborhood, I found this lower part of a bar chair at the curb for trash.  I brought it home and the hummingbird panel fit it exactly!  Now it just needs to be permanently attached to the base; however, it already does duty on our porch as a lovely table.
