New Equipment

Mostly I write about new designs or new processes (both of which will be subjects of upcoming blogs), but this week I actually have a new piece of equipment that I am thrilled to be able to use.

This drill press was a Christmas present from my daughter, and she and I put it together and took it for a test drive. It is fabulous! Not only does this not cause vibration in my hand and arm as I drill the hole, but it offers 100% accuracy with the hole placement. All wonderful advances in finishing many glass pieces.

This picture is the hand drill that I used for years to drill the holes in Christmas ornaments, wind chimes and suncatchers. It is small and easy to store, but the vibration in my hand and arm means that I can only drill about a dozen holes before I need a rest. The accuracy of the hole placement is not nearly as good with the drill press.

If there is a particular item, color or design for an object that springs to mind for you and you want to know if we can create it - and accurately place a hole in it, let in touch and we will see what we can do. Contact us by emailing here or contact us on Facebook.
