Marble Windchime

Here is the completed windchime that I have been working on for a couple of weeks. This new creation uses marbles, jingle bells and a canning jar lid -- all fun items from the past.

The final version is almost the vision I had when I began. I will say that the drilling of the holes was a major learning curve with my new drill press. I had to learn about the correct pressure, the correct location of the hole and the correct position for the drill. So yes, all this means that the first try of my 12 pieces, I broke 4 of them. I remade those pieces and still broke 2 the next time. I won't say I have conquered the learning curve, but I certainly know a few things NOT to do when planning to drill windchime pieces. To test my theories, I am going to try again!

If you are in the area of Hillsborough, NC next weekend, come visit the DarionGlass booth at the Hillsborough Arts Council Handmade Market, June 1 from 12-6 pm. My new marble windchime and I will both be there!
