It Takes a Village

Inevitably, a creative plan takes twists and turns when an unexpected item jumps into the path.  This is what happened when I went thrifting and found this lovely hinged wooden panel.  It just called out to me and this adorable little village wound up on my mantle.

A friend saw it and suggested that I should put glass in the windows and doors.  I thought this was a great idea and so perused my vast selection of glass, made patterns for each individual opening and cut some glass.  I used a different color family for each establishment, with the building on the left all in blues, the next in gold and orange, the next has a glue chip window at the bottom and uses Van Gogh bronze glass at the top, and the building on the far right has all openings done in the same textured aqua glass.

Every when it IS a village, it sometimes takes a member of your village to help you see what is right in front of you and make the most of it!
