Finishing Plant Peepers

Each of the DarionGlass plant peepers is made of fused glass that is then attached to a stainless steel straw so that the creature can live among plant leaves.

The picture on the right shows the non-glass portion of the creative process.  The top photo has the plain stainless steel straws and a hammer.  The hammer is used to flatten the top 2 to 3 inches of the straw in order to provide more surface area for attaching the glass.  The right portion of the top photo shows how the flattened straws look.

The plant peepers, in this case some ladybugs, are then glued to the straw and the straw can then be inserted in a plant.  The straws work well with both outside plants and houseplants, as shown here.
