Fans From the Sea

First, thank you to everyone who came to the Open Studio and went home with a unique glass creation.

This week, I am proud to show off a new creation.  A friend, and one of Dan’s former students, got in touch to ask for a nautical piece that she could gift a friend who had a beach condo.  We discussed choices over email, with pictures, and settled on what the piece would look like in vague terms because I had never done a piece like this.  I sent process pictures as the piece evolved and as I approached the finish line, the student’s mother asked if I could make her a similar piece.

Here are the two pieces that feature similar textured glass to simulate the movement of waves, and completely different shells and sea bubbles with glass nuggets.  Both daughter and mother were pleased with the finished product and I am sure I will make another sea fan that is similar.

We enjoy making items that represent special times or special people.  If you want a special item, contact us by emailing here or contact us on Facebook.
