Dots, dots, dots

To add three dimensional details to various items, sometimes I add dots.  The photos below show something of the process.  The first picture shows the completed dots, stored by color, and the small yellow strip has been scored in 1/8” x 1/8” squares that will be separated and put in the kiln to ‘round up.’  The second photo is what I see when I open the kiln after a dot fusing run – it looks like cotton candy!  Once these dots are cleaned and sorted by color, they are added to various items, such as the windchime piece and butterfly shown.

Come see these items and all of our items at our upcoming Open Studio event, Saturday, September 24 from 9am to 1 pm.   If you are in the Greensboro area and want to shop before the holidays, contact us if you need directions.

We enjoy making items that represent special times or special people.  If you want a special item, contact us by emailing here or contact us on Facebook.
