Planning for Valentine’s?

I am always looking for new items to make or new techniques to create different items.  At a craft show I was visiting last fall, I stopped to talk with a glass artist about her 3D items that were fused.  I was intrigued by the small cats she had used.  I knew I could purchase something similar, but they were costly.  She told me about a technique to create her cats that was news to me, but used frit.  I explored this idea and created these roses.

To use the roses, I created a candle holder.  The roses and vines trail over one panel and the remaining three panels have a textured and iridescent finish.  The completed candle holder has all of the edges finished in copper for a lovely glow and shown here is the completed rose candle holder.

I am currently creating flowers in other colors, with a completely different end product in mind.  I am not sure I will have this done by next week, but I will show it off when finished!

If you have a favorite item – or idea – that you would like to see represented in glass, get in touch and we will see what we can do.  Contact us by emailing here or contact us on Facebook
