Out in the Garden

This week we are out of the studio and into the garden.  I enjoy gardening and have found ways to bring glass outside with me.  DarionGlass makes windchimes to hang outside, but also garden stakes to place in your gardens.

Shown here are three different stakes.  The blue one on the left began life as a bowl.   I removed the bowl from the kiln, placed it on the counter and left it overnight.  When I return in the morning, the bowl had shattered into four pieces.  I really like the blue glass and just couldn’t toss it, so it got another chance at life as this garden stake.  The square middle stake includes iridescent fused glass surrounded by a zinc frame.  The stake on the right is another fused glass option in yet a different shape and colorful design that hangs from a crook.

Each stake has it’s own personality and is a great way to add color to your garden – either with blooming plants or in these dogs days of summer when you may not have as much color.   Of course, we can make a garden stake that is the design and/or colors that work best for you.

We enjoy making items that represent special times or special people.  If you want a special item, contact us by emailing here or contact us on Facebook.

Our Open Studio event will be in August.  Check back for the date and time.
