Jewelry Repair
Once again, I find that my projects begin in a variety of ways. A friend recently asked me if I could repair a piece of stained glass jewelry she had. I said I would try and she then produced the necklace. As you can see in the photo, part of the copper foil edging had come off and needed to be replaced.
This is one of the smallest pieces of stained glass that I have worked with. I hunted up my thinnest copper foil and was pleased to see that it was the exact size needed. I cleaned the jewelry, replaced the copper foil and then soldered the foil in place, trying to make it as seamless as possible. The second photo shows my result.
I was pleased with this repair and hope to return the necklace to its owner next week.
